How to: apply a brush with different colour tones
In our previous tutorial, we have seen the basics of the brush presets. Now let’s give a nicer effect to the flowers we have drawn, by having different tones of green in our brush.
In our previous tutorial, we have seen the basics of the brush presets. Now let’s give a nicer effect to the flowers we have drawn, by having different tones of green in our brush.
- Create a new document, and prepare your brush as I described in our last tutorial: choose a brush, add some space and some scattering to have flowers drawn randomly on your work area. Choose a main colour (in our case, green).
- In your brush preset panel (bring it back with F5 if you lost it) you will want to find the color dynamics menu.
- With the three sliders Hue, Saturation and Brightness, you can set different colors and tones that will be drawn among with the original colour you choose for your brush. Thus you will get flowers drawn randomly on your work area, with different coors according to your taste.
That’s what I have done! Try it yourself, it is really easy and will allow you to create beautiful things from one Photoshop brush. Of course, in a future tutorial we will see how to create a brush from one of your images !
