How to: lighten and improve eye color on a picture
In this tutorial, let’s try to make eyes stand out of the picture. For that we will use two essential tools in Photoshop: the Burn tool and the Dodge tool.
In a previous tutorial we have seen how to work with red eyes on your pictures. Now let’s try to make eyes stand out of the picture? After all, aren’t they the centre of interest in a portrait picture?
We will use two essential tools in Photoshop: the Burn tool and the Dodge tool.
- Open your picture
- Zoom on one eye.
- Select the Burn tool from the tool panel.
- Burn the outside part of the eye, like on the image below:
- Now select the Dodge tool for your tool panel
- Lighten the eye like shown on the image below:
Now what do you think about it? Take a step back and compare both eyes at once: you will see how useful this tutorial can be!
